In recent years ARK Estates has strived to vastly reduce the carbon footprint of our developments through choice of materials, construction methods - recycling and reusing materials where possible - and the implementation of low carbon heating systems, efficient glazing, EV charging points and roof-mounted PV solar systems.
For existing buildings in our portfolio we are conducting a programme of replacing current fossil fuel heating systems with air or ground source pumps and upgrading lightning to low energy systems. State of the art, energy saving insulation is installed to new developments while we are retrofitting improved insulation to existing buildings to dramatically reduce their energy usage and carbon footprint.
With a focus on sustainability, we work closely with a trusted group of socially and environmentally responsible architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers to constantly raise the bar in reducing the carbon footprint of our buildings at both construction phase and for their entire lifetime.
An incredible characteristic of individuals and businesses in the Highlands is their phenomenal generosity and the lengths they will go to help anyone in need. As a local company firmly rooted in the community, ARK Estates is proud to continue that tradition by supporting a number of exceptionally worthy causes and charities that are making a huge difference to people across the Highlands and Scotland:
