The four-story development has been designed by Colin Armstrong Architects and will provide much-needed affordable housing and purpose-built retail space in Inverness city centre.
The development will replace the current altered building which has varying floor levels split over three floors and limited access to much of the floor space. On ground level, there will be a single-floor retail unit of traditional proportions and design, which will be let as empty 74 sq m Class 1 space, ready to be fitted as desired by the tenant. It benefits from a fully glazed frontage onto Church Street, one of the busiest shopping areas in Inverness.
Upstairs, the ten flats will take on the traditional feel of other buildings from the same era on Church Street. Each flat will have one bedroom with a separate bathroom, living/dining room and kitchen. All upper-level flats will have lift access and all units will have an outlook onto either Church Street or Bank Street, Inverness.
